We recently caught up with the crew from Santa Cruz Skateboards to chat about all things art, music, and their anticipations for SEEK. Jump into our convo with Lowri Holness & Torie Leadbeater to learn about their creative inspiration, their playlist for skating into SEEK, and the not-to-be-missed items they’re packing for the show.
Santa Cruz Skateboards in three words:
Skateboarding, Art and Music… or… TIL THE END!
What sparked the decision to be a part of SEEK this season?
It has been a while since we showcased our range on the EU trade show circuit, so we thought what better way to start of 2024 than by showcasing in one of the best cities in Europe!
Santa Cruz boasts some iconic skateboard graphics. Can you shed light on what fuels the brand's visual direction?
Jim Phillips and Phillips Studio set the blueprint that has inspired future generations, we aim to uphold that legacy of high-quality illustration and visual storytelling inspired by our team riders.
If you were skating your way to SEEK, what song would you be listening to?
90s Hip Hop. Probably Wu Tang!
What's one thing attendees shouldn't miss from Santa Cruz Skateboards at SEEK?
Bold designs, all over graphic knits and baggy pants!!!
What are your aspirations for SEEK this year and what do you aim to take away from the experience?
We think this will be a great chance to see some of our current and future partners in a fantastic space with a great atmosphere.
Collaborations are a big deal in the fashion and skateboarding scenes. Do you have a dream brand or artist on your collaboration wishlist?
We’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing artists and partners over the years and will continue to do so.
You’ll have to wait and see what’s next, no spoilers here, sorry!
Who would you bring to a SEEK party?
The Santa Cruz Pro Skate team young and old!
